@Michael I Michael, I don't recall me saying that you disputed the winner. Also, I believe I said that you insinuated I was a fool. But, pissing matches are undoubtedly a fruitless endevour. It was great dicussing the fight with a fellow fight fan. Hopefully, we'll have some great fights in the future to discuss. I am particularly interested in Usyk/Joshua II. I believe the outcome will be the same, but in HW boxing, you never know.

    • Michael I
      Michael I Hace 11 meses

@Rosewood Steel I don’t remember disputing the fact that Fury won the fight, I only said he had a huge size advantage in his favor which he exploited, full marks to him. I don't understand why people are so riled up about it.
Also, I didn’t call you a fool, it was conditional... I said "if you believe size and reach are meaningless in a fight, you must be a fool". Anyways the better man won the fight.

    • Michael I
      Michael I Hace 11 meses

@Rosewood Steel Dude I just gave my opinion and Fury cheerleaders are having a meltdown, crying and tagging me non stop trying to force me to accept that size doesn’t matter in a fight.
If you think size and arm reach are meaningless in a fight you must be a fool. I think the rules should be changed.. if a 147lbs guy isn't allowed to fight a 154lbs guy, it makes no sense that a ~240lbs guy should be giving up 40lbs to fight a 280lbs guy. This point is so simple, I don't understand why some cretins are being too obtuse to understand it.
I'm sure if Fury had to give up 40lbs to Wilder he would definitely have lost, so size was definitely a factor in his favor, he used his weight to lean on and put wilder in a headlock. Valuev has nowhere near the boxing ability of Fury, and he certainly didn’t use ruffhouse tactics like leaning his weight on Haye using headlocks in a boxing match.
The fact that you only have one example shows it rarely ever happens, the good big guy usually beats the good small guy. Haye deployed a hit and run tactic, he avoided Valuev all fight and barely any punches were thrown by both fighters. Wilder wasn't going the win his belt back by running around the ring avoiding Fury. Not an apt comparison.

I laughed when Wilder said " I am not a man of excuses." After the last fight , there was nothing but excuses from him. And even in this excerpt he questioned the slow count. I feel this was an excellent effort by both fighters and ,no excuses, will go in the record books as one of the greatest fights of all time.

In a pre fight interview with Tyson, he said Wilder will return to his normal way of fighting instead of following instructions from his corner, Tyson was spot on it played out exactly as he said!! After about the third or fourth round I think it was Wilder stopped his body shots and reverted to head shots!!

  • JoBoo123
    JoBoo123 Hace 10 meses +1

Congratulations to Tyson. God, he’s got talent. Great job. Great fight, but it takes 2 to tango. Don’t know why Deontay made all those excuses. When you give everything you’ve got you don’t owe anybody anything. Lowered himself by making excuses when he, like a true warrior, laid everything he had on the line. He was beaten by a better fighter. I think everyone will agree he is one hell of a warrior. There were two warriors in the ring that night. That was one hell of a fight.

I just look at it that they are both extremely competitive, it’s always difficult to handle a loss when you push to be the best. If they weren’t like that, they wouldn’t push it to that level. It was a awesome fight, both fighters gave their best, you can’t ask for more than that. Fury is just a plain freak of nature! If anything, I personally think Tyson didn’t look as slick in movement as he usually does. Maybe because the extra weight or other issues? But still good enough to WIN!

I hear you. I was rooting for Wilder because he is my countryman but I thought Fury was gonna win if I'm being honest. He's my favorite heavyweight right now. There's no one in this weight class who can beat him right now in my opinion. Wilder probably had the best chance because he has the right hand to knock him out with. But he needs work on his skill set in order to land it on a guy like Fury enough to take him out. I would say Wilder redeemed himself in this fight but he's already making excuses. But he did fight a fantastic fight. He knocked fury down more than once and nobody but Wilder can do that right now I don't think.

He’s correct when he said some of the game plan went out the window, because clearly he didn’t stick to his plan, the way Wilder train was totally different from what we witness in the ring, you have to stick with your game plan by trusting and believing, and that’s something he failed to do. Say what you want about wilder, he might make a lot of excuses after he loses, but when he’s in the ring especially in this third fight, he did EVERYTHING he could to try to win and not get finished. You gotta respect the heart he had in there trying not to go down when there were numerous times he was so wobbly and about to tip over, and then when he got knocked down, to get up numerous times until the last one where he was absolutely out, he STILL didn’t just lay down in the ring after he got ko’d, he got up pretty fast for getting knocked out the way he did.

This interview is from 2 years ago. How times have changed. He says he doesn’t make excuses yet the rematch he made excuse after excuse and the third fight he couldn’t even be gracious. The third fight was the best fight out of the 3. The second fight was basically Fury just battering Wilder. So after 31 rounds I would guess TF won over 90% of the rounds. Very good fight. Whoever hit full contact and power would of won and thats what happened. 12 rounds in the heavyweight div is rare and it was anybodies. Fury has a crazy mind that can overcome real adversity it was shown. Thanks to both got to love them both they were good to the end

The entire fight was well worth the money. Both fighters did their very best. I doubt if many guys out here could hang with either fighter. But, we all know theirs always someone rougher, tougher than fighters we've seen. Personally, the fight definitely was everything and all that. My guy lost, and that's okay. He just didn't lay down and give it away. He gave it, as well as taking it.The winner had to earn the win. The Gypsy King did just that. I'm looking forward to seeing both fighters in the future. This fight made for a nice weekend. I enjoyed it. It was nerve racking, but good. 🥊🥊 Good fight to both fighters.

“Getting hit in the head is not cool…”. Right there is Wilder’s Achilles Heel. I have been around a lot of professional fighters, both in the gym and in everyday life. The guys who make the ultimate cut are those who like to get hit…it fuels them, drives them. The sting tells them they are alive and that the combat they are engaged in is real. They work to avoid getting hit only because of their drive to win. Taking punishment is half of the equation.
I was watching an MMA team tryout several years ago, and one of the guys was a physical specimen, great skills, great conditioning, and dominant over his peers in every way. He was cut from the tryout about halfway through. Everyone except the coaches were surprised. I later asked the head coach why they cut him, and the answer was simple, “He didn’t like getting hit.” I didn’t fully appreciate that idea until I saw the guy on television about two years later at the UFC. He was undefeated and had been destroying his opponents. He was poised to make the jump to the main card, and looked to be a force in his weight class. That night, however, in the process of crushing his opponent, the other guy got in a couple of clean combinations. Nothing devastating, but crisp. This guy’s entire game fell apart, and at one point following a nice jab, he turned away and started looking for the exit. The fight didn’t end well for him, and as soon as they went to the ground he was looking for an excuse to tap.
Wilder showed an awful lot of heart in that third fight…no taking that away from him. But Fury took him to places he had never been, and he didn’t like it one bit. Ultimately, he was broken and couldn’t recover.
I hope he gets his head right, learns some humility, and has the sense to go back and learn some fundamentals. If he adds more weapons to his arsenal and embraces the pain and disorientation Fury laid on him he could very well be the champ again…and it is entertaining as hell to watch him fight.

I hate hearing him and seeing him in action hurts my eyes. That footwork, thise windmills, those drunk punches when trying to deliver a combination. The only bixing like move is when he unleash his righthand. But other than that. No sign of the art of boxing at all.

I Got all the respect for DW. Its got to be crushing to his corner he admitted wanting to get him out of there & being in his emotions. That plays into Furys game plan as well. Unfortunately. But nobody can say what they would do in that situation. DW could have just as easily won that fight as he lost it. Props to both fighters! I just feel for my boy DW. He lives to fight another day!

Wilder did great in the 1st. And actually won it. Tyson won all the others except for the round he was knocked down twice in. Wilder wasn't conditioned at all and his defense was terrible. He got exposed. He needs a coach for conditioning alone along with his training. Bottom line, he got his ass whipped. Glad he didn't get hurt permanently.
